An elderly Russian woman has nicked her neighbour's stallion and taken it for a joyride in order to tick off one of her bucket-list dreams.

On her 80th birthday, Agrafena Vasilyevna snuck into her neighbour's stable, saddled up his horse 'Lyme' and galloped away.

After her hour-long joyride with Lyme, Vasilyevna returned to find her neighbour, Igor Vasilev, waiting for her with police.

Vasilyevna told the boys in blue that she'd always wanted to ride a horse but never had the chance – which is a surprising excuse considering she's had 80 years to get it done.

"They told me off but it was worth it. I've fulfilled a dream I've had since childhood and I was running out of time," she said.

"I've got a few more things on my list so people should stand by to be shocked."

It must be said, a horse-wrangling joyride is an awesome effort for an 80-year-old … especially when you see the following hilarious clip of much younger woman trying something similar…
